1. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Academia Sánchez-Casal is a high performance training facility that combines tennis and education for the students, with
the objective of shaping successful young people in diverse aspects of their lives. The Academia Sánchez-Casal has a Unique
Training System established by coaches with a worldwide reputation. Sánchez-Casal has developed elite players such
as Kuznetsova, Murray, Dimitrov, Hantuchova, Ivanovic, Mónaco, Bovina, among others.
The High Performance Tennis + Studies Annual Program offers a complete educational journey for the students who
want to combine intensive tennis training with academic studies. This program includes a daily high performance tennis
training based on the Sánchez-Casal system, which includes technical exercises, court mobility, tactical strategy and
competition, with a specific physical training program and the ES International School which is situated inside the
Sánchez-Casal facilities. In addition, this program also includes mental training, video analysis, and a personalized
competition calendar.
The annual program begins in September and runs until June. It includes 15 hours of tennis training and 5 hours of physical
training per week, 1.5 hours of mental training per month and 1 video analysis per semester. The various areas of the program
are designed and coordinated so that students can benefit the most from all of them. This means that tennis, physical training,
mental training and the school together obtain the maximum benefit for the students. Students can succeed in both academic
studies as well as tennis training, avoiding injuries and overtraining, thus ensuring the best performance possible.
Our daily work at the Academia Sanchez-Casal is guided by our philosophy of “developing successful young people in all aspects
of life, using tennis and education as the vehicle for personal development.” All student athletes receive the relevant support
systems to help them fulfil this goal.

6. PROGRAM CONTENT BY AREAS
The content of the annual program is divided into the following areas:
TENNIS
Includes 3 hours of tennis training every day (from Monday to Friday), in which the student works in the technical and tactical
aspects of the game as well as court mobility and positioning, based on the Sánchez-Casal system in order to enhance their
tennis and develop a better game from all areas of the court. Each student is assigned a tutor, who is responsible for monitoring
the development of the player. All of the coaches from our technical team have the RPT and USPTA certification.
The training season is divided into preparation, competition and transition periods. These periods, which are also monitored in
the physical training, ensure a perfect balance between training and competition according to each student’s age and level.
PHYSICAL TRAINING
Includes 1 hour of physical training every day (from Monday to Saturday), in which all the physical aspects, such as resistance,
strength, speed, agility, coordination and flexibility are worked on, in accordance with proper planning for the student, based
on the Sánchez-Casal system, which emphasizes movement and court positioning. Every student will have a physical trainer
tutor who is responsible for monitoring the proper development of the player in his/her physical aspect, as well as coordinating
with the tutors that the player has assigned in other areas.
The physical training in Sánchez-Casal has a special emphasis on preventing injuries.
COMPETITION CALENDAR
The student will have a personalized competition calendar appropriate to his/her age and level. This calendar will be planned
by the tennis tutor of the student as well as the Tournament Coordinator, and could include both national and international
tournaments, based on the individual needs of the student. Also, this sporting calendar is coordinated with ES International
School, which adapts the school curriculum to the planned tournaments. The tournament registration fees are not included in
the price of the program. For more information, please go to the Tournaments Tab in the Academy’s website.
MENTAL TRAINING
Our team of sports psychologist offers the student a proper mental training in order to develop the mental skills of the student,
by performing in class and on court sessions, as well as providing support for the student to be able to use tools that will not
only help him/her in tennis but also in his/her everyday life. The mental training is integrated into the Sánchez-Casal training
system.
VIDEO ANALYSIS
The tutor will conduct a complete video analysis with the student every semester. The student will be recorded while performing
on court exercises as well as in actual matches, and the tutor, supervised by the Tennis Lab team, will perform a technical and
tactical analysis of the student. Likewise, other video analysis sessions may be performed in order to help the student in a
particular aspect of the game.
STUDIES
The student will attend ES International School, located inside the facility of Academia Sánchez-Casal. ES International School
is an accredited American school which offers 3rd through 12th grade (ages 8 to 18 years old). The language of instruction in all
classes is English and they are taught by native teachers. Every student will be assigned a school tutor to monitor academic
development as well as coordinating with the tutors the student has been assigned in other areas. The student population
consists of student-athletes from over forty countries who cumulatively speak over thirty languages.
7. COLLABORATION BETWEEN ACADEMIA SÁNCHEZ-CASAL AND ES INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL
The Academia Sánchez-Casal and ES International School work together so that the students can combine to perfection tennis
and studies. Any student who wants to terminate the tennis program from the Academia Sánchez-Casal will also have to
withdraw from ES International School, and vice versa, whether it is during the semester, or at the beginning of the next.
8. UNIVERSITY PLACEMENT and SAT TESTING
For those students who graduate from ES International School, we offer a service for obtaining athletic scholarships at American
Universities, where the students will be able to pursue university studies while still playing tennis at a high level. This service
includes a complete registration process to an American University, as well as the search for academic and athletic scholarships.
Likewise, ES International School offers the preparation for university admission tests like SAT and TOEFL. Currently, 95% of
our school graduates have earned a University Degree, while the remaining 5% have pursued a professional tennis career. ES
International School works with a specialized service for obtaining scholarships and coordinates with them in order to find the
best university in agreement with the objectives and academic qualities of the student.

11. VISA AND RESIDENCE PERMIT
Our Admissions Department team will provide the invitation letters and other necessary documentation for those students
who do not reside in countries within the European Union, who will need a Visa (Visa D) to live and study in Spain.
This service is available once the reservation for the program has been formalized (after the registration form has been sent,
the registration fee has been paid, as well as the corresponding deposit fee). It is the student’s responsibility to contact and
get an appointment in the Spanish Consulate/Embassy in the country of residence in order to obtain the visa.
The Academy will also provide a template for the Consent of a Minor Living and Studying in Spain that must be issued by a
notary, signed by the parent/legal tutor of the student, legalized by the Spanish Embassy/Consulate in the country of residence
with the “Apostille” stamp.
Within 30 days of the student’s arrival in Spain with a Visa D, each student must obtain a student residence card.
Each student will have to bring the following documents:
Visa D for Studies
Photocopies of both parents passports
Consent Letter legalized by the Spanish Consulate/Embassy with the “Apostille” stamp.
As this process requires the services of a lawyer, it has an extra charge. The Admissions Department will be in charge of the
initial and renovation process of the residence cards for the Academy students.
The students that are citizens of a member state of the European Union need to be registered in the Community Registry and
obtain the identity number for foreigners (NIE). That process is mandatory for students that stay for more than 180 days in Spain.
