Founded in 1870 – the majestic structure promised peace in a time of continuous conflicts but also in a time of change and long aspired hopes.
In 1901 at “Locanda Della Pace”, thanks to the forward thinking of its founders, what is now known as “Grand Hotel & La Pace Spa” was being conceived.
The architect Giulio Bernardini planned the design of the new project and top Art Nouveau artist of the time, Galileo Chini is the one who brought to life the paintings in the sumptuous halls.
Thanks to its long-lasting charm, the hotel has welcomed prestigious guests such as D’Annunzio, Vittorio Emanuele of Savoia and the Royal Family, Puccini, Toscanini , Badoglio, Madame Curie, Trilussa, Former Duke of Windsor and Wallis Simpson, Former Shaikh of Persia, Rothschild, Former Saudi King Ibn Saud, Ranieri and Grace Kelly of Monaco.
