THE DESTINATION
Schloss Elmau, Germany is located near Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the most beautiful sanctuary of the Bavarian Alps between the Zugspitz Glacier und the Karwendel Mountain Range just 100 km south of Munich and 40 km north of Innsbruck The region offers an abundance of hiking and mountain bike trails, crystal clear lakes, rushing streams, lofty peaks, famous museums and churches, authentic Bavarian villages and all the fairy tale castles of King Ludwig II.. You can reach his his favourite retreat at 1800 m above sea level in the Wetterstein Mountains in less than one hour with one of our super e-bikes.

Guests of either one of the two 5 Star Superior Hotels may use all the great offers of the other, except for breakfast and use of the spas in the Retreat, which are exclusively reserved for guests staying at the Retreat.

The Hideaway was built from 1914-1916 by the german philosopher Dr.Johannes Müller as a hideaway for artists and his readers, destroyed by a fire in 2005 and reconstructed by his grandson Dietmar Mueller-Elmau as a Luxury Spa & Cultural Hideaway and Member of Leading Hotels in 2007.

The daily courses for beginners & advanced yoginis & yogis take place in the JIVAMUKTI YOGA CENTER from 8:30 – 10:00 am and 16:00 – 17:30. All classes are taught by Advanced Jiyamukti Yoga Teachers which have been personally certified by Sharon Gannon & David Live, the founders of Jivamukti Yoga in New York City.
The Yoga Retreats & Annual Yoga Summit feature outstanding teachers of most popular Yoga Styles and allow you to find out not only what kind of Yoga and which teacher work best for you, but also to widen and deepen your knowledge of Yoga and your individual Yoga practice.

Today up to 200 Classical Music & Jazz Concerts, several Festivals and many CD recordings with the great artists of our time take place each year.
