Park Hyatt Aviara Tennis Facilities Swing into the Southern California lifestyle in Carlsbad at Park Hyatt Aviara, ranked as a Top 50 Tennis Resort in the world by Tennis Resorts Online. Set amongst the Batiquitos wildlife preserve and Aviara’s botanical gardens, our six state-of-the-art lighted tennis courts feature four Deco Turf hard courts, and two Har-Tru clay courts. One of our Deco Turf courts, considered to be one of the most beautiful courts in the San Diego area, is often used for spectator seating events and tournaments. Park Hyatt Aviara Tennis Court Rates & Services All tennis courts at our Carlsbad facility cna be reserved on an hourly basis or as much time as necessary for events. Water coolers and towels are provided with each court reservation. Practice balls and rackets are available for use at no cost. There is no additional fee for registered hotel guests. This is included in the resort fee. Court Rates: $35 per hour for public play. Ball Machine Rates: $45 per hour or $30 per half-hour. Player match-up is guaranteed with a 24 hour advance notice. Resort guests traveling with kids are also welcome to join our local after-school tennis programs during their stay. Park Hyatt Aviara Tennis Academy Our tennis program at Park Hyatt Aviara in Carlsbad, California is managed by the renowned Peter Burwash International management company, providing first-class service and quality instruction to tennis enthusiasts worldwide since 1975. Tennis Professional, Steve Halverson, has been a member of Peter Burwash International for over 39 years, and he is currently in charge of their international wheelchair player program. Steve joined Aviara in 1997. With the ability to teach in four languages (English, Spanish, French, and Indonesian) and experience teaching and playing in over 50 countries, he is the heart of the Park Hyatt Aviara tennis experience. Steve’s teaching philosophy focuses on individuals instead of systems, and he ensures that every lesson is tailored to the player’s needs. He guarantees a great work-out, education, and fun for the novice and experienced player alike. Tennis Lessons: Private lessons are $90 per hour. Semi-private lessons are $100 per hour. Group lessons are available and charges at $110.00 for three and $10.00 extra for each additional person Adult Tennis Clinics: Clinics are taught to each individual’s needs and desires, rather than a system-based philosophy. Tuesday and Thursday Group Clinics: - open to the public. $25.00 per person. Saturday Group Clinic: - Registered hotel guests only, complimentary Kids Tennis Clinics: Several group clinics are offered throughout the week for guests travelling with children.
